Printer Port Types

When ordering any printer, it is important to select the appropriate model based on the port type available on your PC. Most PC's have at least one of these port types, and you'll need an unused port to successfully install your printer.

There are 3 types of ports that our printers are compatible with (depending on the model selected):

• Parallel
• Serial (also known as RS-232)
• USB (by purchasing both a Serial printer and a USB to RS-232 Serial Port Cable)

Just in case you are still confused by all of this, you can look on the your computer to see which port of the ones pictured below you have available (unused):
